PARENT/STUDENT HANDBOOK

Call the 24-hour attendance line at 949-936-5801 to report your child’s absence from school. Do not leave messages on other phone liines.

Please speak clearly, identify yourself, your child’s name, grade level and teacher, and give the date and reason for absence.
Your child cannot return to school until he/she is fever-free for at least 24 hours, without medication.
If your child misses more than 3 days of school, they must obtain a doctor's note before returning.

If you need to pick your child up early from school, you must report to the office to sign your child out.
Please be on time to pick your child up at the end of the school day.
Children can only be picked up by a parent or authorized person, as listed on the student’s emergency card.

Musical instruments, lunches, homework, and other items are sometimes forgotten by the students when they come to school.
If a parent chooses to bring forgotten items to the school later, they must be dropped off on the green cart in the front of the office.
The student should check the cart outside the front office for these items, in case they have been brought to school by someone in their family.
The office staff is not responsible for running these items to the students for a variety of reasons, first and foremost being it is disruptive to the classroom.

If your child requires medication at school, the medication must be kept in the nurse’s office to be administered by school personnel.
Children may not have medication, including inhalers, in their backpacks.

By law, the school must follow these procedures:

Medicine must be in the original pharmacy bottle, labeled by the pharmacist.
Parent and physician each must sign a consent form prior to medication being administered. Consent forms are available in the school office or you can click here to download form.
Medication MUST be brought to school by the parent or guardian. At no time can medication arrive at school in a lunch box, baggie, etc. These regulations also apply to non-prescription medications. Non-prescription medications include aspirin, vitamins, cough syrup, cough drops, ointments, etc.
Do not ask school personnel to administer medications until the above mentioned requirements are met.

All volunteers and visitors to the school must sign in to Raptor at the front office and pick up an ID badge.
Upon leaving the school, they must sign out and return the ID badge to the office.
